A misunderstood symbol or symbols in modern times especially in America is the pentagram , Baphomet, and anything really having to do with a star and a circle. Unfortunately these symbols are mostly misunderstood by people who are misinformed, or really not willing to read the truth and are comfortable with there own made up ideas on what they think certain symbols mean,or a branch of Christianity that uses these symbols to invoke fear in there fellow followers of the Christ and cross.
I’m not just talking about Holy rollers with uneducated ideas of symbolism here either. Anton LaVey the founder of the church of Satan uses the “Baphomet” or the head of “Baohomet” in the church of Satan’s logo for the “church” also using letters from the Hebrew alphabet to be read counter clock wise to be read as LVYTN or “leviathan” which is one of the books in the Satanic bible.
Fact of the matter here is, in the late 1800s in attempts to discredit Free masons various articles were written by hardcore Catholics or materiel written for the pure purpose of anti-masonic propaganda, and in the midst of the different versions put out, the pentagram was turned upside down and brought more into the public eye. Anton LeVey adopted it for his “Sigil” and it is now being used by satanists, of at least the church of Satan to this day. It’s when you see footage of him with a black cape on and a pitch fork dressed up like he’s about to go “Trick or treating” Devil horns and all, that i would hope any true Occultist would just burst out in laughter.

Yep! This fine looking gentlemen here is the founder of the church of satin and is one of the causes of a misunderstood Bapomet .
But hey, the guy did his own thing and that’s what counts. I guess.
Here is the Church of satan’s symbol or “Sigil”.

Hear is were he got his goat head from or what ever artist made his symbol or “Sigil”

O.k there’s a lot going on in this picture so I’m going to grab a few things out of this and explain what they are, but first, let’s stop pointing the finger at Anton because he merely took the goat head of this symbol full of many symbols and made it his own.
Eliphas Levi is the creator of the picture above.
First off, “Baphomet” was first spotted in a mid-thirteenth century, undoubtedly and correctly in reference to Muhammad, “Mahomet” and has been determined in what seems to be a misinterpretation of the word by french interpreters. Here is were things start coming together as far as the mix up with the knights Templar’s.
Manuscripts from the 1300s of the trials of the Knights mention it as a pagan deity which, as we know now, probably was not the best thing to have the Inquisition find out. They were being exterminated no matter what, because the Pope wanted them gone.
In the 19th century, there were a few books published with what is known as history that had little fact and a lot of fiction, which basically transformed the Knights Templar into, once again, another conspiracy theory for everyone to talk about with out any facts at all.
The Knights Templar were tortured by the Inquisition, hence why each story in the transcripts were different. In fact, one of there main charges were “the worship of the heathen idol-head Baphomet.”
If you look at : Peter Partner (1987). The Knights Templar and Their Myth. pp. 34–35. (previously titled The Murdered Magicians)
It’s here you will read the poem, “And daily they impose new defeats on us: for God, who used to watch on our behalf, is now asleep, and Muhammad (Bafometz) puts forth his power to support the Sultan.
There is a lot more of this out there, so many things make this topic very obvious to how this symbol started to be created in the minds of the masses.
Lets take a look at some meanings in the picture by Eliphas Levi of Baphomet. Lets also keep in mind that Levi’s version, and best known version to date, is also very much modeled after the devil in early tarot cards.

There are other meanings for this picture of symbolism found in other books, occult web pages, as well as many other symbols including this one.
I’m really only trying to personally hope someone who thought this just meant “The Devil” to understand that there is a little more going on here than just that one meaning.
I’m well aware It’s true that if your Christian, and being that this has nothing to do with the trinity that it’s in your faith were this is not in the light but in the dark, and that is your faith and i respect that. I wanted to put together a little of my own thought with some dug up information to point out some of the different meanings here. I hope these different meanings help in being a little more knowledgeable, in my opinion a misunderstood set of symbols.
I will gladly be puting up more information on diffrent occult subjects and religious topics very soon.
