Living in California, I have used my fair share of stand-up paddleboards for surfing. However, I was anxious to review Pacific’s new twist on stand-up paddleboarding.
The Pacific Sunsrise flatwater stand-up paddleboard is specifically designed for paddling on lakes, rivers, and other bodies of flat water. With its gentle rocker, the Pacific Sunsrise flatwater stand-up paddleboard handles like a dream. At only 9ft. 6in. long, It maneuvers shallow rock beds with the greatest of ease, yet the twin skegs allow the Pacific Sunsrise flatwater stand-up paddleboard to track straight and true.
During my review of the Pacific Sunsrise flatwater stand-up paddleboard, I paddled it on both a river and a lake. I was surprised by the stability of this paddleboard, even when dead stopped on a choppy river. The Pacific Sunsrise flatwater stand-up paddleboard cut through the waves without much discomfort, and maneuvering was a breeze even against the current.
Here are the full specs for the Pacific Sunrise Stand-Up Paddleboard:
- Length: 9’ 6”
- Width: 32”
- Weight: 30lbs.
- Built-in Easy Carry Handle
- Twin Skegs For Straight Tracking
Overall, would rate my review of the Pacific Sunrise Stand-Up Paddleboard as a 10 out of 10. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and fun flatwater stand-up paddleboarding can be. After years of surf paddleboarding, the low strain of flatwater stand-up paddleboarding was a much appreciated change. I hear Pacific Paddleboards is working on an 11ft. 6in. stand-up paddleboard. Can’t wait to review that board, too.
