If you want to save money on getting your dog groomed, then do it yourself. For this you will need a brush, comb, dog grooming scissors, thinning scissors, dog toe nail clippers, dog nose scissors and tweezers.

Once you have all of your supplies, take your dog somewhere comfortable outdoors. Stand your dog on a mat and make sure that you have a lot of treats available.

To get started, you will need to run your hand through your dog’s hair looking for mats, knots, fleas and ticks. This is also the time to brush him thoroughly with a de-matting comb and some children’s detangling spray.

Now you should use a soft, damp cloth with warm water to clean your dog’s eyes. Do this same thing with your dog’s ears as well. You need to be gentle when doing this. After you are done with his ears, make sure to place some rubbing alcohol in them then wipe it out with a dry cotton ball. This will help to get rid of mites and bacteria.

Move onto your dog’s teeth next. You will want to brush them with a toothbrush. A dental kit can also be used. This can be purchased from your local pet store.

Once you have done all of this, take a pair of scissors and trim your dog’s coat. Make sure to read the scissors’ instructions first so that you can follow them and be sure that neither you nor your dog is injured.

After all of these things have been done, it is time to give your dog a bath. Pour warm water over him to get him thoroughly wet. Apply some pet shampoo and work it through his coat. Rinse your dog off thoroughly before squeezing out any excess water and either towel drying or using a hair dryer on him.
